Mahankali Suryanarayana Sarma

Natyacharya Mahankali Suryanarayana Sarma born to Mahamkali Sathyanarayana and Kamakshi in the year 1951 at Kuchipudi village, learned traditional Kuchipudi Natyam from his father and later from illustrious Guru Dr. Vempati Chinna Satyam.

Apart from this is well versed in Sanskrit and has good knowledge of Carnatic music. He is a diploma holder in Kuchipudi. Being born in a traditional Kuchipudi family, he started being a part of dance programes from a very young age. He won accolades for his performances from Hon’ble Governor Bhimsen Sachar and Chief Minister Brahmananda Reddy at the age of nine years.

He acted in Yashaganas as Prahlada, Lava Kusha, Hiranyakasyapa. His performances included as Krishna in Gopi Krishna, Radha Krishna and Vishnu in Ksheerasagara Madhanam, Bhasmasura, Banasura, and as Bali Chakravarthi.

He started teaching dance from 1972 under various institutions before starting his own establishment Thirumala Arts Academy & Sri Venkateswara Cultural Association at Guntur in the year 1975. He has composed innumerable dances compositions and dance dramas over the years and his students have won many a laurels in both national and international stage.

He has earned appreciation for his performances not only in India but also in various other countries like U.S.A, U.K, London Australia, China, Japan, Korea, Bhutan, Thailand, etc.
