Bhagavathula Sethuram
Bhagavathula Sethuram, Associate Professor in the Department of Dance, Sree Potti Sreeramulu Telugu University, Hyderabad hailes from the traditional Kuchipudi family. He is known for teaching one of the purest form of Kuchipudi aart from which he learnt from his father Guru Kulapathi Sri Bhagavatula Rama Kotaiah who is well revered for his productions, particularly for the Kuchipudi Yakshaganam ‘Ramanatakam’.
Bhagavathula Sethuram first performed at the age five as Prahald in the Kuchipudi Yakshaganam Bhakta Prahalda. He also learned from Vedantam Prahalda Sarma and choreography nuances from Dr. Uma Rama Rao. In dance he is a purists but he also gives space to new ideas in dance and choreography. Yudhamu – Shanti, Lakshamana Rekha, Dance ballets of Marathi bhajans on Shirdi Satya Baba, Asthalakshmi Vaibhavam are some of the noteworthy choreographies of Sethuram.

He has travelled extensively in India and abroad, both in official capacity as part of the Telugu University and for dance programs. He heads the institution started by his father in 1962, ‘Kuchipudi Nritya NIlayamâ€.
He has been conferred many awards notable among them being, Ugadi Puraskar by Andhra Maha Sabha, Nruthya Kinara award from Telugu Academy, Delhi, Excellence award from Mauritius Governement and Nandhi award from the Government of Andhra Pradesh.
